Lunch

Homemade Lemonade

Fresh homemade lemonade in a glass jug and tumblers with lemon slices and ice on a tray.

This deliciously tasty activity is great for children of all ages to get involved with, from slicing the lemons, to squeezing the juices, stirring the ingredients together, to sitting down on enjoying a nice refreshing glass of homemade lemonade together, on a warm sunny day!

Ingredients

1/2 Cup White Sugar

1 Cup Water

1 cup Lemon Juice (roughly 5 fresh lemons)

3 Cups Cold Water

1 Lemon, sliced to garnish

3 Handfuls Ice

Method

1) Place the sugar & 1 cup water into a saucepan, then heat & stir until the sugar has dissolved. Take off the heat & leave to cool.

2) Whilst the syrup is cooling. With supervision let your children cut the lemons in half & use a juicer to squeeze out the lemon juice.

3) In a jug, mix together the squeezed lemon juice, 3 cups of water & the cooled syrup.

4) Add ice & sliced lemons, serve & enjoy!!
